Position Overview:

 

As an Engineering Intern at our rare earths magnet startup, you will play a key role in advancing next-generation magnet manufacturing. Working closely with engineers and scientists across disciplines, you will gain hands-on experience solving real-world engineering challenges in materials processing, manufacturing, and product development. This internship offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on innovation, sustainability, and the revitalization of critical U.S.-based supply chains.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering efforts across mechanical, materials, and process development projects.
  • Assist in the testing, evaluation, and improvement of rare earth magnet production techniques.
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams working on scale-up, equipment design, and operational optimization.
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues in pilot and production settings, proposing and implementing solutions.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data to support engineering decisions.
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation of project activities, results, and learnings.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards in all work activities.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, or related field).
  • Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn and contribute in a startup environment.
  • Interest in advanced manufacturing, materials science, and clean energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as CAD, data analysis software, or lab instrumentation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment:

The work environment will be a mix of a typical office environment, a manufacturing floor and a construction site.   Noise level: Normal office, manufacturing and construction noises
