Overview:

CBC is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT professional specializing in Microsoft Server technologies to assist with the design, implementation, and management of the server components of our company. This position requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, Nutanix virtualization, security principles, integrations, and best practices. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This is not an entry level position.

  • Administer, improve, troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain on-premises Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Nutanix environments. 
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards. 
  • Analyze and recommend improvements for monitoring, disaster recovery, optimization, and automation. 
  • Assist in the tactical and strategic planning and operations for systems, solutions, and storage environments. 
  • Responsible for resolving escalations regarding systems, solutions, and storage infrastructure.
  • Physically responsible for the installation, de-installation, and maintenance of racked infrastructure.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of architecture designs and controls for servers (physical & virtual), appliances, storage, etc. 
  • Lead by example to share knowledge with teammates and reinforce good behaviors. 
  • Engage with team, peers, and key business stakeholders. 
  • Intentionally design functional security and usability into all projects and processes. 
  • Stay current with the latest relevant trends and provide advice and guidance on their impact on our technologies. 
  • Adapt quickly to change and respond to ambiguous situations. 
  • Assist in performing Proof-of-Concepts and Cost-Benefit reviews to support solution purchase decisions 
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, including speaking, listening, and writing. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or an associate degree with relevant certifications – Microsoft strongly preferred. 
    • 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft servers, solutions, and PCs, including patch testing and deployment. 
    • 3+ years' hands-on experience in Active Directory, identity/privileged access management, GPO, and Sites & Services. 
    • 2+ years' experience with Nutanix virtualization (VMware acceptable)
    • 1+ years' experience implementing backup solutions and disaster recovery. 
    • 1+ years' experience designing physical server infrastructure. 
    • Excellent understanding of network architectures, operating systems, email, certificates, and security technologies. 
    • Experience scripting administrative tasks with PowerShell; Python a bonus.
  • Experience with Change Management and creating/using change tickets.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience with Azure, Entra ID, and AWS.
  • Hands on experience with automation and orchestration.
  • Advanced Microsoft certifications.
  • Nutanix certifications.
  • Experience with Linux servers.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Essential physical requirements include standing, stooping, lifting, climbing ladders, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, seeing, hearing, and typing. 
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to navigate a data center with raised floors and tight spaces.

 

Work Conditions: The work conditions and characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Primarily working in an office or studio environment. Occasionally working in data center or infrastructure closets.
  • Handling infrastructure, batteries, cabling, etc.
  • Position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call scheduled rotation including occasional weekends and holidays.  
  • Occasional travel to other CBC sites as necessary.
