NSF is in search of a Technician II in the Mechanical Plumbing lab. The Technician II will need to have basic lab skills and an aptitude for understanding and using machines or tools. Lab experience a plus. Great entry-level position to learn about product certification work and to start a career in the sciences for a mission driven company.
Responsibilities
- Install and test plumbing products
- Assist with flow testing of plumbing products
- Schedule and perform testing to meet needs of laboratory and client.
- Work collaboratively with other laboratory personnel to support efficient scheduling of testing.
- Maintain instruments and equipment in proper operating condition and keep necessary documentation.
- Assure adherence to all safety and health policies and procedures.
- Assure the accuracy of daily results including its accurate transcription in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Assure corporate and laboratory QA/QC programs are met.
- Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in Engineering and/or plumbing.
- High School or GED – or working toward an Engineering Degree.
- Able to use basic laboratory equipment and hand tools
- Knowledge of PC/Windows software (Word, Excel).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledgeable and experience with laboratory QA/QC plans, manuals, and procedures.
- Highly motivated in completing assignments correctly and on schedule.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate in Engineering, or related field.
- Understanding of and experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Experience with measuring equipment, i.e. Calipers or Micrometer.
- Experience with ASME, ASTM or ISO standards.
- Experience with laboratory notebook upkeep.
- Experience with Load Frames
- Hands on experience with plumbing installation and repair
- Familiarity with hand tools
- Experience with coatings evaluations
- Previous experience working in a laboratory or testing environment.
