Job description

Summary:

Responsible for providing security to residents, employees, and visitors, and protects the community building, grounds and assets as assigned.

Shifts:

(Part Time) Saturday - Sunday, 8am-4pm

Responsibilities:

1. Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.

2. Investigates, documents, and manages security incidents and hazards.

3. Maintain knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.

4. Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.

5. Routine foot patrols throughout the campus to prevent and discover activity in violation of criminal, fire, and safety codes.

6. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.

7. Respond to resident emergency calls and contacting the proper authorities to resolve the matters correctly.

8. Record any burned-out light bulbs and/or exterior doors not securing.

9. Answers phone calls promptly. Responds to questions, directs calls, and take messages as appropriate.

10. Assists residents in signing up for events, logging work orders and/or answering any questions they may have.

11. Lock doors at designated time, according to community protocol. Checks the security of all doors regularly throughout the night.

12. Monitor security cameras.

13. Handles minor maintenance emergencies (plugged toilets, reset breakers, replace light bulbs, lock outs, etc.) as needed.

14. Interacts with residents and guests in a friendly and courteous manner, providing assistance and directions as requested.

15. Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information.

16. Reacts to 911 calls to meet ambulance and/or fire department and direct them to appropriate garage/entrance.

17. Assist in daily pool chemical reads and document appropriately.

18. Project assistance as directed by Resident Services Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Fire Safety and Basic CPR/First Aid training.
  • 1 year law enforcement, safety and/or security experience and customer service
