Position Overview
Join D2 Government Solutions’ professional security team at a federal headquarters in downtown Louisville. You’ll handle access control, patrols, screenings, and incident response while following clear procedures, maintaining situational awareness, and treating every visitor and colleague with professionalism and respect.
Responsibilities:
- Staff the main security desk in the east lobby, providing access control and visitor management.
- Conduct random patrols of USACE-leased office space and government parking lot.
- Screen visitors and employees while using walk-through and handheld metal detectors.
- Monitor alarms and coordinate with building security (Bradford Allen) and local law enforcement.
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and fire alarms; assist first responders as needed.
- Maintain daily activity logs, incident reports, and key control registers.
- Implement Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAM) and comply with Army security protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all facility rules, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Maintain neat, professional appearance and comply with all base access, safety, and information protection requirements.
- Provide courteous, timely customer service to USACE staff and visitors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (proof required).
- Minimum of 2 years’ direct experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
- Ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare accurate reports and documentation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen (Lawful Permanent Residents with military service may be considered).
- Must pass pre-employment and ongoing drug screening.
- Must be able to pass federal background investigation (fingerprints submitted and Tier 3 investigation initiated at onboarding; full adjudication may follow).
- Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (No evenings, weekends, or holidays).
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and respond quickly to emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in federal or military security environments.
- Veteran status strongly encouraged (USACE supports veteran employment).
- Familiarity with Army antiterrorism and physical security protocols (AR 190-56, AT Level I, OPSEC).
