Portland Public Schools: Elementary Art Long Term Substitute Teacher
Portland Public Schools seeks innovative and passionate art substitutes to join our elementary team to work as a long term substitute at both Oakwood and Westwood Elementary. Daily stipend of $220 for certified substitute or $180 for non certified substitute. This position will begin 10/06/2025 for 4-6 weeks.
The desired candidate would possess the following attributes:
Ability to integrate art into teaching and learning practices
Exceptional communication, analysis, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Understanding of PBIS and MTSS initiatives
Ability to handle complex and stressful issues or situations with sound judgment, common sense, and a calm demeanor
Impeccable character, a good sense of humor, and compassion for elementary school students, families, and staff
Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Possess a valid Michigan Teacher’s Certificate or Substitute Permit.
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess student learning
Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues
Demonstrated ability to sustain and improve student achievement outcomes
Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement
