Supervisory Responsibilities

1. Shall supervise assistant coaches.
2. Shall organize and supervise student/athletes during organized team events until they have left the school grounds or are under their parent’s supervision.

1. Implement district policies and philosophies within the program.
2. Prepare and organize practices.
3. Abide by PIAA and Pac10 rules and regulations.
4. Understand the proper administrative line of command.
5. Perform duties that may be assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal.
6. Attend and be prepared for coaches’ meetings, league meetings, and district meetings, when appropriate.

Administrative Responsibilities

1. Work with athletic director to schedule practices and games.
2. Assist in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sports events.
3. Collect documentation from student/athletes to fulfill state and district requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent, insurance, and eligibility, etc
4. Uphold and support eligibility policies.
5. Be responsible for all equipment and uniforms issued by the Athletic Department, including end-of-season collection.
6. Report all student obligations at the end of the season in writing to the Athletic Director.
7. Prepare annual budget requests for equipment, uniforms, etc. for the next season.
8. Prepare annual “End-of-Season Report” for the athletic department.

Student Responsibilities

1. Provide instruction and leadership to student/athletes.
2. Serve as positive role model to student/athletes.
3. Teach values of sportsmanship and a commitment to becoming an outstanding athlete.
4. Establish and enforce team rules for the consistent discipline of team members.
5. Shall be present at all practices and games.  In the event you are unable to attend a practice or game, coaches should notify the Athletic Director and arrange for appropriate coverage by an Assistant Coach.
6. Accept responsibility of student conduct and welfare at all practices as well as at home and away events, and provide supervision on buses.
7. Maintain a clean and safe playing field/gym, locker room, equipment room, coaches’ office, etc.
8. Will see that injuries and incidences are properly reported to the Athletic Trainer.
9. Encourage students to maintain acceptable levels of classroom performance and conduct.
10. In sports in which squad size is limited, coaches shall provide sufficient opportunity for tryouts before making team selections.  All candidates for teams shall be informed of the procedures for team selection at a pre-season meeting or at the first day of tryouts.

Professional Relations Responsibilities

1. Shall be professional in their relations with administrative personnel, members of the coaching staff, and faculty and other school district personnel.
2. Be supportive of the athletic program, activities program, and academic program of the school district.
3. Be proactive in dealing with parents and the community.
4. Maintain good public relations with the booster organizations, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
5. Promote the sport within the school by encouraging student participation, but shall not bring pressure on any student to participate in any sport to the detriment of any other sport.

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
3. Pleasant, cooperative and positive work attitude.
4. Good communication skills to interact with other staff and public.
5. Have the ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
6. Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.
7. Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.

1. Days vary according to seasonal athletic schedule; hours vary per event.
2. Per REA Agreement for the 2025- 2026 school year- 6 units
2. Annual assignment appointed by the Board of School Directors as recommended by Administration.
