This is a Continuing Position.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Cosmetology Program State Compliance Director plays a critical role in ensuring the effective operation and regulatory compliance of the cosmetology program at Cascadia Tech. This position is responsible for accurately tracking, updating, and auditing student training hours in accordance with Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) requirements and school policies. Working closely with instructional staff, this role supports the documentation of student progress in practical, theory, and clinical components to ensure readiness for program completion and licensure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Accurately enter and update student training hours into the school’s tracking system and required state reporting platforms.
- Ensure that hour logs are maintained in compliance with Washington State DOL regulations and school policies.
- Work closely with instructional staff to verify student attendance, practical work, and theory completion.
- Conduct internal audits of student hour records to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies.
- Submit required documentation to the Washington State Department of Licensing as needed, including annual business license for the Cascadia Tech salon.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all student records.
- Support student progress tracking and graduation eligibility.
- Participate in staff meetings and training related to compliance and regulatory updates. Attend all Cosmetology Committee meetings. Actively seek consultation and advice from the advisory committee about prevailing practices, equipment, and facilities necessary for maintaining up-to-date competences (outcomes) and an up-to-date instructional program.
- Evaluate student classroom, lab experiences and clinical competencies; maintain appropriate student records and report student progress to appropriate personnel.
- Assure evaluation of knowledge and skills of students before verifying completion of the course.
- Assure that students receive a verification of completion when requirements of the course have been satisfactorily met.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a current cosmetology instructor license with the state of Washington.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a cosmetologist and or barbering.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of an instructional team.
- Demonstrated ability in positive human relations.
- Demonstrated organizational ability.
- Qualifies for a Washington State Career and Technical Education Teaching Certificate.
