JOB SPECIFICS: This individual will provide math tutoring/support to
Indigenous youth attending Cherryland Middle School and
Elk Rapids High School during the 2025-2026 school
year.

DISTRICT AND JOB DESCRIPTION: Elk Rapids Schools has approximately 975 students in grades K-12
and is located in the northwest lower peninsula of Michigan. The District also serves as an authorizer of Mill
Creek Academy, a K-5th-grade District that educates approximately 230 students. Elk Rapids Schools is an
education leader within the Northwest Education Services Intermediate School District and is eager to
interview the best candidates for this vacancy.
Elk Rapids Schools, through the GTB 2% Grant, is seeking a motivated, passionate, engaged, and dedicated
academic tutor focused on mathematics to make a difference in our community and district. This position offers
the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Indigenous youth who attend Elk Rapids Schools
by fostering a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will commit to educational
excellence, effective classroom management, and a collaborative approach to working with all students,
colleagues, parents, and community members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? This individual will support the Indigenous students’ mathematical growth potential who
attend Elk Rapids High School and Cherryland Middle School in grades 6-12th grade
? This tutoring opportunity would occur flexibly, based on student need, either before or
after school or during lunch periods, not to exceed 9 hours per week.
? This individual will work collaboratively with principals, Tier 1 math instructors, and
students to improve overall math competency

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
? High School Diploma/GED
? Understanding and knowledge of current math standards and expectations
? Preference will be given to individuals with teaching or tutoring experience, as well as those
who hold math degrees or certifications.

Hourly Rate: Based on 2% Grant Allocation: $21.00/hour-contracted service through PCMI
