Career Opportunities in Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering Design for Datacentre projects 

 

Following a recent surge in design activity in the datacentre sector, we have a range of fantastic opportunities across all levels, both staff and contract roles, to support current and upcoming projects in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and other markets.

We are seeking talented professionals across the following disciplines: 

  • Mechanical [Building Services, Plumbing and Public Health]: Develop innovative technical solutions for cooling, and resilience, optimising both performance and energy efficiency at the system and site levels. Design complex water treatment and fuel storage systems. Liaise with AHJs on supply and discharge solutions for DC campuses. 
  • Electrical: Develop innovative technical solutions for power systems optimising performance and energy efficiency at the system and site levels. Liaise with TSOs and DSOs on supply solutions for DC campuses. Work with a multidiscipline team to create solutions for our DC clients. Evaluate different power strategies and renewable solutions. 
  • Civil: Work on large greenfield and brownfield DC campuses developing multidiscipline service routings and connections. Assess cut and fill and preloading strategies. Design vehicular and people routes around campuses using the latest technologies.  

Key Responsibilities 

Here’s what we will expect you to do: 

  • Come to work with a can-do attitude! 
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define requirements and deliverables. 
  • Work in the BIM environment to develop design drawings 
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including drawings, specs, and submittals. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and best practices in data centre design in the markets we are operating in. 
  • Think about the full lifecycle of a project when designing with a key focus on constructability, scalability, and sustainability. 
  • Manage your time well and if youre in a lead role, lead your team of engineers and modellers 
  • Lead risk assessments, value engineering, and change management processes. 
  • Champion health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance at every stage of the project. 

 

:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., RIBA, CEng, PMP, LEED AP, MCIOB) is great. 
  • Datacentre experience is definitely a plus but not essential. Similar experience in complex industrial facilities is great. But most of all, a motivation and drive to work in the DC sector. 
  • Proficiency in BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar design software. 
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and leadership skills. 
  • Proficient English, with additional language skills an advantage in our international projects.
