Position Summary:
Provide overall warehouse management, inventory control, and global logistics leadership in support of expanding manufacturing operations. Execute effective warehouse resource and capacity utilization through long-term planning strategies to help ensure factory success. This position will be responsible for and drive continuous improvement practices in a fast-paced GMP environment. Role reports into the Head of Supply Chain.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Inventory management of raw materials, bulk drug product, finished goods
- Warehouse capacity and resource planning
- Direct domestic and international logistics (customs compliance)
- Partner with cross functional teams in support of corporate goals
- Influence business units and align on warehouse inventory strategy
- Manage and mentor team of warehouse personnel
- Track and manage supplier delivery schedules and resolve supply issues
- Implement and drive inventory data management tools to monitor the flow of goods
- Warehouse project management lead
- Manage warehouse management portion of ERP system
- Support facilities expansion projects
- Warehouse and logistics SOP and training aids development
- Lead daily warehouse operations and cross functional teams
- Develop and report KPI’s and other performance metrics for warehouse
- Suggest and develop warehouse automation tools to increase efficiency
- Develop and promote a culture of safety
- Oversee ERP systems controls and cycle counts
- Ensure compliance with Regulatory standards for warehouse controls
- Initiate investigations, CAPA’s, and change controls for warehouse operations as needed
- Optimize warehouse resource allocation
- Foster an environment of inclusion and growth
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience within warehouse operations
- Pharmaceutical or medical device storage and logistics experience a must
- Strong background in international logistics and customs regulations
- New warehouse space implementation experience a plus
- Lean/Six Sigma experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills required
- Must be highly detail-orientated
- Must be able to thrive in an environment of continuous change
- Must have a strong sense of ownership and be able to drive issues to closure
- Must be a self-starter who is accountable and trustworthy
- Experience with SAP S4/HANA a plus
- Experience with HAZMAT procedures
- Ability to effectively develop and implement warehousing strategies and communicate plans to site leadership
