JOB SUMMARY
The Grinding Operator for the Grind Department maintains the machine operation during the production process, ensuring that all machines are operational within our company standards, attention to what product is being ground/mixed, all full/empty buggies/bins placed in the correct location, and if there is a problem notify the lead or supervisor immediately. After the shift ends the area must be cleaned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and maintain both the Grinder and Mixer.
- Lockout-tagout certified and follow all lockout-tagout parameters.
- Inspect/calibrate all equipment before use and between each breakdown with QA and PCM.
- Grease and reassemble the grinder.
- Coordinate with leads to follow production schedules to make the correct WIP.
- Follow each product mix based off the SharePoint recipes.
- Calculate the correct weights by ingredient to achieve correct product mix.
- Ensure all ingredients are under the correct co-date/meet all QA requirements for temperature and consistency.
- Work with QA to obtain correct water/phage mix.
- Able to use safety scissors/knife to open necessary ingredients.
- Operate scale and ensure all finished buggy/bin are labeled and covered.
- Move/Store finished buggy/bin in designated areas or to production line.
- Be able to lift/shovel (up to 50lbs.) product between bins and buggies.
- Actively look for downgrades, contamination, foreign material and report as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Pallet Jack certified.
- Help on the line (such as styling/inspecting/assisting lead) when not operating the grinder/mixer.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience is preferred, but not required for this position.
• No formal education is required
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to speak English and/or Spanish, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
