Are you passionate about maternal care and ready to play a critical role in supporting safe and successful deliveries? Arnot Health is seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Technician (L&D Tech) to join our experienced team on a per diem basis. In this role, you’ll provide both technical and clinical support in the Labor and Delivery unit, working closely with nurses, physicians, and the unit management team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a surgical scrub assistant during deliveries and procedures

• Maintain a sterile surgical field and practice strict aseptic technique

• Handle instruments, assist with counts, and manage specimens

• Prepare equipment and supplies for sterilization and support safe clean-up

• Assist with patient transport and restocking surgical suites

• Ensure readiness of rooms and equipment for scheduled procedures

• Demonstrate awareness of patient rights and provide age-appropriate care

• Respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations, following Arnot Health protocols

Who You Are

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or a Practical Nursing program (NYS LPN license preferred)

• Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting preferred

• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) – or able to obtain within 90 days of hire

• Knowledgeable about aseptic technique, sterilization processes, and surgical safety

• Physically able to meet the demands of the role, including lifting and standing for extended periods
