Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly strategic, creative, and data-oriented Senior Manager of Product Marketing to join the Venmo Marketing team. This individual will report directly to the Head of Product Marketing, Venmo, and will oversee our Commerce function. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall product vision, product strategy, positioning, and go-to-market approach for Venmo’s expanding portfolio of commerce initiatives and products.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to drive product commercial success
  • Champion customer needs to ensure products address key pain points and deliver value
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new product launches and feature updates
  • Build a deep understanding of markets, competitors, and regulatory landscapes to inform strategy
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to gather customer feedback and refine product positioning
  • Support the launch of new markets and offers by coordinating with global and regional teams
  • Lead the prioritization and execution of marketing campaigns to increase adoption and market share
  • Provide expertise on product capabilities, value propositions, and best use cases
  • Monitor product performance metrics and identify opportunities for growth and optimization
  • Drive commercial readiness by developing positioning, messaging, and cross-channel launch strategies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing leader who excels at collaborating cross-functionally, analyzing market and merchant trends, and driving product adoption and usage alongside Venmo’s Marketing, Commercial, and Product teams. Job Overview

As Senior Manager, Product Marketing, Commerce, you will be responsible for crafting the product marketing vision and narrative for Venmo’s commerce offerings. You will partner closely with Product, Commercial, Marketing, and Research teams to drive both inbound and outbound product marketing initiatives—helping Venmo expand its role as a trusted commerce platform for consumers and merchants alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Positioning: Develop and refine the product positioning, messaging, and value propositions for Venmo’s suite of commerce products, ensuring they resonate with our target audiences and differentiate us in the market.

  • Go-to-Market Leadership: Lead the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for your products, including product launches, feature updates, and ongoing marketing campaigns to drive awareness, consideration, adoption, and growth.

  • Market Insights & Competitive Analysis: Work with Consumer Insights to conduct market research and competitive analyses to inform product development and marketing strategies. Stay ahead of industry trends to identify new opportunities.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Commercial, Design, and Consumer Insights to align on product vision, roadmap, and market needs. Act as the voice of the customer in product development discussions.

  • Creative Excellence: Work with your Marketing and Creative counterparts to uphold creative excellence throughout your campaigns.

  • Performance Metrics & Optimization: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the success of product marketing initiatives. Use data-driven insights to optimize campaigns and inform future strategies. Partner with Marketing Analytics to post-mortem launches and set us up for a successful learning agenda.

  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively engage senior stakeholders across the company, keeping them informed about performance and quickly escalating and unblocking any challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • 8–10  years of product marketing experience, with 5+ in leadership roles, ideally within tech, fintech, or commerce/digital payments

  • Proven track record of launching and scaling commerce or payment products in competitive markets.

  • Strong analytical skills with deep experience in market research, customer insights, and performance measurement.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, able to translate complex commerce solutions into compelling narratives.

  • Experienced in leading cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

  • People management experience, with a focus on coaching and developing high-performing teams.

  • Passion for product, payments, and the evolving commerce landscape.
