Program Specialist

Administration for Native Americans (ANA)

Tribal Tech, LLC is in search for Program Specialist to support and manage a portfolio of federal grantees from initial applications through implementation to evaluation of success.  

The Administration for Native Americans supports Native American communities by providing financial assistance and capacity building, gathering and sharing data, and advocating for improved policies within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and across the federal government.

Location: Washington, D.C.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a grant portfolio of social development, economic development, native language and environmental projects
  • Work closely with senior management level staff, to include providing written analysis and reports on various activities
  • Develop methods to maximize quality and availability of social economic development services
  • Provide guidance on community development projects
  • Analyze and evaluate applications for federal financial assistance
  • Compile results and present trends and best practices
  • Provide support for management and analysis of training and technical assistance activities
  • Assist with review and analysis of community-based projects and associated costs
  • Requires travel up to 10%
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate numerous activities within tight deadlines and a proven record for workflow management and ensuring tasks are accurately completed
  • Ability to provide assistance and recommendations in the design of new programs, enhancement of existing programs and maintenance of existing programs
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement/decision making skills and to take initiative
  • Must be dependable and trustworthy
  • Detail oriented with strong ability to anticipate needs and problems and act accordingly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities, multi-task
  • Must be able to favorably complete a background investigation

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in an office environment and/or administrative capacity, working with senior leadership; Federal government experience preferred.
  • Requires some knowledge of federal government contracting and corporate policies/ procedures.
  • Experience working on Native American issues or working with other underserved/ socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.
