Purpose of Job

To ensure effective and efficient management, coordination and development of the technical activities (asset management, project management, technical process development and engineering services) for the Brunsbüttel site.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive and entrenching a Zero Harm culture within Technical Services and its associated service providers
  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory maintenance and inspection requirements for Marl as well as the timely correction of identified deficiencies
  • Cooperate with operational maintenance team, as part of Work Order Management process and structures
  • Deliver on the focus areas outlined for Strategic Maintenance, incl. Bad Actor reduction, Equipment Strategy development (via FMEA) and ensuring fit-for-purpose service provider contracts
  • Adherence to the agreed capital, maintenance and functional budgets
  • Prioritization of project requests, as well as resource prioritization, in accordance to Business Risk or Opportunity assessments and the agreed Chemicals Strategy
  • Further development of the Marl plants and associated technologies, in agreement with the Business Segments, as well as implementation of new technologies at site
  • Lead, motivate and develop the Technical Service employees via cooperation with HR
  • Drive continuous improvement of all Technical Services process and activities

Formal Education

  • Degree in chemical engineering / process engineering / mechanical engineering 

Working Experience

  • more than 10 years of relevant working experience

Required Personal and Professional Skills

  • strong leadership skills
  • project development and execution experience
  • extensive experience in the Maintenance of chemical plants
  • excellent safety management experience
  • process safety knowledge 
  • chemical industry experience (products, applications, processes)
  • fluent German and English (written & spoken) and very good communication skills
  • good IT skills (MS-Office, SAP etc.)
