About the role
At Sydney Airport, we connect the world—and you make that possible. As part of our Finance team, you’ll help shape the future of air travel through precision, collaboration, and technical expertise. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where fresh challenges land daily, and where your attention to detail and drive to improve will be valued and supported.
We’re seeking a Financial Control Analyst with a strong foundation in financial accounting, ideally with exposure to or an interest in developing experience in treasury-related accounting. . This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your technical skills in a hands-on role that goes beyond day-to-day accounting, offering exposure to advanced areas including financial instruments, hedge accounting, and regulatory reporting.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journals and reconciliations.
- Assist with half-year and year-end financial reporting deliverables, including financial statement notes and supporting schedules.
- Take ownership of Payment Times Reporting submissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Respond to audit requests by preparing reconciliations, workpapers, and explanations.
- Gain exposure to accounting for derivatives, hedge accounting, and fair value assessments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the finance team to improve processes and ensure reporting accuracy under time pressure.
About you
- 2–4 years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally with exposure to treasury-related accounting.
- Good understanding of accounting for financial instruments, with a willingness to develop further expertise in these areas.
- Analytical and detail oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Pursuing or qualified CA/CPA.
- Industry experience preferred—someone with practical experience in the preparation of journals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
