Blackbird Interactive is looking for a Lead 3D Artist to join our team! We are working on a remaster of a hugely popular RTS franchise. Collaborate with our tight-knit team of highly dedicated and talented artists, designers, and developers to create best in class games. We’re looking for someone with previous experience leading an art team, and the ideal candidate has an excellent development sense, sophisticated pipeline and people skills, and the ability to build gameplans based on the Studio Art Director’s feedback. In addition to leading others and providing feedback, this role will also require the ability to create 3D asset content and material work as a production artist.

Responsibilities
Work closely with the Studio Art Director and dev team to define and communicate direction for a tactical Remaster.
Lead a team in amending RTS assets and terrain to have a modern PBR response and updated aesthetic.
Explore, revise, and iterate on pipelines and gameplans quickly and efficiently.
Provide in-depth research and reference materials to help drive visual development.
Consistently deliver asset work of the highest caliber that can inspire the team.
Requirements
4+ years of industry experience
Experience leading art teams, in a senior or lead capacity
Ability to work in a proprietary game engine
Ability to create 3D production assets and Substance materials (Painter and/or Designer)
Experience with RTS - the successful candidate will be able to speak to the read requirements of a game of this genre
Ability to work in a collaborative environment, experience with Art Directors
