Responsibilities
- Manage data requirements associated with central broad-based campaigns as well as other university department and unit campaigns in Marketing Cloud.
- Write and maintain complex queries to support targeted solicitation and stewardship efforts, ensuring accurate inclusion/exclusion logic and alignment with campaign goals.
- Collaborate with the Broad-Based Campaigns and Digital Engagement team, to advance the strategic usage of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) by managing marketing data and campaigns, as well as supporting advanced data needs broadly across Salesforce systems and the organization.
- Perform data management tasks, including experienced data modeling, conversion, de-duplication, migration, and identification and repair of data quality issues.
- Design, build, and implement custom data tools and workflows, including reconciliation systems, validation processes, match/merge logic, and batch upload mechanisms that support efficient and scalable operations.
- Develop and execute custom queries to support unit-level solicitation strategies, ensuring audience segmentation aligns with specific campaign goals, donor engagement plans, and institutional priorities.
- Provide support for campaign segmentation and query development to ensure seamless execution of solicitation and stewardship efforts
- Contribute to team and organizational success by producing high-quality work, collaborating effectively, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across mass communication operations.
Data Management and Analysis
- Create and tune complex stored procedures and queries for data management and extraction.
- Establish, monitor, and manage a data production calendar to ensure timely completion of data requirements.
- Work in cooperation with the the Broad-Based Campaigns leadership team to coordinate data schedules and delivery of data for electronic and printed fundraising appeals/materials.
- Provide experienced troubleshooting and problem analysis/resolution for data related issues; perform experienced scripting and modifications of application and products for corrective action.
- Research and stay up to date with data engineering best practices and approaches; stay abreast of latest security threats and risks to proactively address potential exposures.
- Create and maintain a complex data model in Marketing Cloud for use in campaigns across Purdue University.
- Fulfill data segmentation requests for partners to use in their email campaigns.
- Translate plain-language requests into complex SQL queries and support on-time delivery of requests.
- Use APIs to connect to Salesforce.
- Use data and analytical skills to assess existing programs and segments; recommend strategic changes.
- Responsible for monitoring/tracking overall performance of campaigns.
- Provide projections and forecasting as it relates to its goals.
- Work with Broad-Based Campaigns team to design and implement statistical reporting and analysis on key performance indicators and/or enhancements to current reports.
Project Management
- Manage and track a data production calendar.
- Ensure priorities are clearly established and communicated and all data needs are completed in a timely fashion.
- Provide/assist with data proofing to ensure accuracy of requests and make/recommend adjustments as needed.
- Use data and analytical skills to assess existing programs and segments; recommend strategic changes.

Required Education, Experience and Benefits Summary
- Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Marketing, MIS, Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 years minimum experience in business analysis and data gathering, or related experience.
- Experience designing, creating, and maintaining program assessment reports required.
- Experience working with large scale SQL databases and ability to extract data by designing and executing complex SQL queries required.
- Salesforce CRM experience strongly preferred.
