The Meetinghouse Facilities Finance Intern helps Church employees and external vendors provide dignified facilities where individuals can meet to focus on Jesus Christ. This individual will be working with the Management Control Auditor and within a larger team of over twenty-five that is directly involved with Meetinghouse Facility expenses domestically in the U.S. This is an hourly position which is generally 40 hr./wk., 8 hrs. per day. The position includes a hybrid work arrangement which is remote Thursday and Friday and onsite Tuesday-Thursday in the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City. This arrangement could change according to business needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of the largest departments of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We are looking for upbeat individuals with a passion to gain internal audit experience in one of the largest departments of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Required skills include MS Office and intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge. Preferred experience would include Microsoft Power BI in a data rich environment, and/or facilities management experience. We seek a self-motivated student with the ability to work in a small team environment, love continuous improvement, and seek to develop their professional skill-set.

 

The Meetinghouse Facilities Intern can expect to:

Responsibilities

  • Use Excel, PowerBI or other queries to audit facilities related transactions.
  • Gain an understanding of internal controls and the ability to detect weaknesses.
  • Document findings and conclusions. Present the information to management.
  • Assist in the departmental Risk Assessment process including reporting.
  • Draft reports of findings on a recurring basis.
  • Participate in on-site Internal Control Evaluations. Some travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

Preferred:

  • Be pursuing a Finance or Accounting bachelor’s degree
