Production Supervisor en Rain Bird Corporation

Rain Bird is seeking 2 Production Supervisors to support our Tucson, AZ facility on the night shift. The Production Supervisors are responsible for fostering a performance-driven and continuous-improvement environment for production operations and has accountability for the safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance of the group under responsibility.

• Supervises manufacturing activities in a plastic injection molding and packaging environment. Manages all productivity and quality-related issues within the manufacturing team
• Serve as the voice of the operation, coordinating with maintenance, quality, safety, and engineering personnel
• Hires, develops, and trains direct labor personnel
• Monitors production, technical, and support personnel
• Ensures that safety regulations, regulatory controls, policies, and procedures are followed
• Initiates and documents Safety hazards, Corrective Actions, and ensures on-time completion
• Initiates and oversees quality and process improvements
• Leads and carries safety and quality process auditing
• Monitors and reports on shift-related key performance indicators (KPI’s), including scrap monitoring, and Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Undertaking special projects as required
• Promote and use techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma and Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing)
• Work and rotate between day shift and night shift based on business needs in a 24/7 operation.
• Ensure compliance with the production schedule.

• BS or BA degree
• 3 years of relative experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
• Strong lean manufacturing and six sigma knowledge
• Experience leading improvements processes in quality, productivity and safety.
• Excellent people leadership skills
• Experience managing production schedules
• History of increasing responsibilities with proven track record of achieving good results

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post graduate education or MBA degree
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior Plant Management and budget responsibility
• Automation implementation experience
• Lean or Six Sigma Certification
• Experience in injjection molding and/or extrusion
• Bilingual - English and Spanish
