Primary Purpose:

Supports the facilities by providing professional skills and advanced experience related to troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing all low and medium temperature refrigeration systems including but not limited to walk-in freezers and coolers, stand-alone freezers & coolers including low temperature (-80 C) freezers associated with the laboratories and buildings. Also assists the Facilities staff in providing a safe comfortable environment by working on commercial air-conditioning equipment.

Essential Functions:

Services, repairs, maintains, and installs refrigeration equipment for walk-in coolers and freezers.

Services, repairs, and maintains stand-alone freezers and coolers.

Promptly responds to refrigeration related work orders.

Assists in setting up and performing preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment.

Documents appropriate logs and repairs records for refrigeration equipment.

Assists in the implementation of safety and good housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean & orderly.

Coordinates and engineers refrigeration projects both internally and with outside contractors.

Coordinates and tracks warranty repairs on all refrigeration systems and units.

Installs refrigeration systems for walk-in coolers and freezers.

Installs remote air conditioning systems.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

On Call: Ability to respond to emergencies after normal working hours and on the weekends.

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Climbing: Using hands and feet to pull one’s self upwards, such as using a ladder.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Color Vision: Perception of and ability to distinguish colors.
