We are currently seeking a seasoned Construction Inspector I - Lab Manager to join our Lexington office and play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality infrastructure projects. 

What You’ll Do:

As a Construction Inspector I - Lab Manager, you’ll be on the front lines of project delivery, monitoring construction activity, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.  This role combines both field and lab work, requiring you to maintain accreditation in our soils and concrete lab while performing essential testing for our clients. It’s an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional who thrives in active environments and takes pride in ensuring projects are built to the highest quality and durability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed inspections on earthwork, concrete, asphalt, structural, drainage, water, sewer, and utility installations.
• Perform verification and acceptance testing of construction materials both in the field and in the lab.
• Support project teams with calculations, measurements, technical documentation, and engineering-related tasks.
• Maintain accurate, timely project records and correspondence with contractors, clients, and stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and communicate construction issues, contributing to effective problem-solving in the field.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project outcomes.

What You’ll Bring: 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection or materials testing.
• Preferred certifications:

• ACI Level I Concrete Field Testing Technician
• Aggregate Sampling Certification
• Grade Level I Technician
• Asphalt Field Technician / Asphalt Paving Best Practices
• Structural Inspection Level I
• KEPSC-RI qualification

• Other certifications such as KYTC, NICET, HMA field, or equivalent industry-recognized credentials will be considered.
• Solid understanding of construction specifications, processes, and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with contractors and project teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
