Now Hiring – Radiology Assistant  for Mammography Department 

Location: North Naples, FL – On-site (1875 Veterans Park Dr.)  

Status: Full time 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm

Job Summary  

Under the clinical direction of a radiologist and general supervision of the diagnostic imagining center manager, and technical director, performs designated duties with limited supervision and a variety of duties, which at times, require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Performs other related duties within the job classification or organization as necessary or as assigned by management.

  • Receive and follow directives and instruction from radiologists, center manager, and technical director to properly perform the position function.
  • Prepare exams on the Rad workstation for radiologist’s interpretation.
  • Familiar with all functions of PACS, including icons and RAD tools, in addition to scanning in documents, printing studies done on PACS, and assisting radiologist to schedule patients for additional studies. 
  • Schedule patient examinations according to physician's orders as directed.
  • Explain proper preparation to patient prior to procedures and verify appropriate patient history pertinent to examination ordered. 
  • Ensure that records are properly completed with appropriate information such as patient name, account number, date of exam, date of birth, etc. 
  • Answer telephones, record, relay, and deliver messages. 
  • Operate computer PACS terminals, MAGVIEW, MDM, MERGE RIS, computers, printers, and phone systems. 
  • Escort patient through procedure to prevent entry into unauthorized or restricted areas of facility. 
  • Assist in preparing patients for exams.
  • Perform errands as required by supervisor and technologists. 
  • Perform light housekeeping, stock, and straighten patient hospitality room as needed.
  • Contribute to and maintain good working rapport with all patients, personal, physicians, and radiologists to ensure that the organization’s objectives can effectively meet the needs of patients and physicians.
  • Assure that patient’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, and civil rights are maintained.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all classified and sensitive information, including patient care information. 
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the organization.
  • Assure formal introduction of self by name to all patients and address patient by name in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Assure treatment of all patients with warmth, dignity, and consideration.
  • Follow established policies and procedures, including safety and precautions.
  • Report all unsafe, hazardous conditions, and defective equipment to supervisor immediately.
  • Assure that assignments areas are maintained in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly fashion. Assist with laundry of patient gowns, sheets, and other linens.
  • Assist with quality control duties and assignments as required. 
  • Attend and participate in in-service educational classes, seminars, staff meetings, and on-the-job training programs as required. 
  • Perform other related duties within the job classification or organization as necessary or as assigned by a radiologist, diagnostic imaging center manager, or technical director.

Requirements

 

  • Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required: CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary
