Water Treatment Plant Operator en City of Winchester, VA

The City has an outstanding strategic plan that includes goals and objectives, a clear vision, and a culture of collaboration. We are recruiting for a Water Treatment Plant Operator at our Percy D. Miller Facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees the proper functioning of pumps, motors, instrumentation, filters and chemical feeders;
• Maintains operational parameters as specified by the Facility manager, Chief Operator, or Shift Leader;
• Checks equipment and records data;
• Monitors SCADA and recording equipment and determines usage or flow;
• Collects samples from designated points;
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to complete within 6 months of employment - Small Water Systems Operation and Maintenance Course
• Ability to complete within 9 months of employment - 3 facility Demonstration of Capabilities, DOC's
