LabCentral is hiring a Facilities Coordinator to join our team in Cambridge. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Facilities. You will be a strong fit for this role if you have 5+ years of progressive experience in customer service and facilities maintenance, including work as a facilities coordinator or in related trades. We are looking for a self-directed individual who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to solve problems while delivering outstanding service to our resident companies.
What will I do?
Responsibilities:
Your day-to-day is focused on ensuring that the building systems and infrastructure operate as designed, residents have what they need to be successful, and the Facilities Team is organized in their work priorities. Every day is different, so flexibility and responsiveness are key!
Coordinate Facility Infrastructure and Amenities
- Support a culture of safety across the facility alongside LabCentral’s EHS team.
- Coordinate work across building infrastructure (plumbing, electrical, HVAC), janitorial services, security, and shipping & receiving at multiple sites.
- Conduct proactive routine walkthroughs to identify issues, log them, and delegate resolution.
- Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance (patching/painting, plumbing repairs, lightbulb replacement, door hardware, hanging shelves, package receiving).
- Oversee contractors and service providers onsite, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to LabCentral standards.
- Respond to urgent issues and occasionally support scheduled work outside of regular hours (evenings or weekends).
- Support the department head with tracking and developing the facilities team’s budget.
- Uphold LabCentral’s standard of excellence for delivering services, facility upkeep, and aesthetics
Supporting the Facilities Team
- Support and coordinate the day-to-day work of teammates and vendors, and step in to provide direction when needed.
- Prepare the agendas for and facilitate department meetings, which are designed to overcome work challenges, alleviate bottlenecks, prioritize work focus, develop skills, and share feedback.
- Serve as the daily facilities point of contact and provide back-up support for tasks of other team members.
- Own the work order intake and triage process in CMMS and asset management system, assigning tasks, tracking completion, and reporting trends.
Fostering Relationships
Your success will be guided and determined by many things, including some of the following metrics:
- The continued success of well-established sites measured by site net promoter score and manager’s performance evaluation.
- Ability to take ownership of operations, respond effectively to tasks, and help guide team efficiency.
- Operational continuity of the sites through proactive maintenance, minimal downtime during service interruptions, and consistent adherence to safety protocols.

What will I do?
Desired qualifications and technical skills:
- Experience with property management.
- Ability to conduct hands-on facilities work involving tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, climbing a ladder, and using hand and power tools.
- Basic understanding of building infrastructure, construction methods and materials, and best/safe practices.
- Proficient with computers (Mac and PC), Microsoft Office Suite products and IT systems.
- Experience managing CMMS and asset management systems.
- Experience overseeing janitorial staff or trades contractors a plus.
- Conversational in Spanish and/or other languages is a plus.
- This is an onsite role requiring the ability to work on location in Cambridge, MA. including occasional but rare off hours including weekends.

Work environment:
- Fully onsite during regular business hours with a start time that may vary between 7:00am to 9:00am based on operational need.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods, ability to move around an office and lab environment, and ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

Compensation
Our compensation philosophy is intentional and researched to align with average market salaries; comprehensive, generous benefits to support overall well-being; and parity with our existing and future team members. Below details the value of what our compensation package may look like, but specific details pertaining to an individual will vary.
Salary range: $57k-75k along with the potential to earn a bonus of 8-10% based on company performance.
Approximate monetary value of benefits (based off an individual – dependents increase value): $24,000.
