The Food Service Manager provides administrative and compliance support for the district’s Food Service Department and serves as a key point of contact between the district, the contracted food service provider, school staff, and families. This position supports daily operations while assisting with oversight of vendor performance, ensuring compliance with state and federal child nutrition program regulations, and maintaining accurate documentation for audits and reporting. This position will oversee and manage two employees.

1 FTE (8hours per day/ 5 days per week)
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years’ Food Services experience required; experience in K-12 education setting preferred;
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, policies, rules and regulations as it relates to Food Services and ability to apply knowledge;
Must be accurate, efficient, and detail oriented, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task, while meeting required deadlines;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required;
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate multiple grant funded meal programs including application, training, administrations and reconcilement of programs;
Maintain the data base for the School Food Authority required by USDA/MDE for Professional Standards training requirements for all food service employees;
Conduct on-site reviews and monitor each location for USDA compliance;
Coordinate Yearly USDA required site staff training for the Food Service Programs;
Monitor and input yearly departmental purchase orders for equipment repairs and/or purchases;
Manage inventory and ordering of departmental and kitchen office supplies;
Monitor fiscal transactions and commodities ordering;
Assist with Health Department inspections to ensure compliance;
Stay up to date on all USDA and MDE regulations and compliance requirements;
Perform other duties as assigned.

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear;
Sitting for long periods of time;
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds;
Regularly required to use close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must also have the ability to adjust focus.

Occasional walking or standing within an office or school building to retrieve files, assist visitors, or attend meetings.

May occasionally lift or move materials or packages weighing up to 20 pounds.
