Job Title: Shop Manager

This position is mission critical to our existing and future service implementations. We serve all sizes of commercial mechanical companies across the U.S. with end user clients that include many top Fortune 100 companies. Projects include data centers, semiconductor and EV battery manufacturers, universities, health care facilities, and district energy systems.
Position Overview: The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the mechanical flushing equipment and tool maintenance, repair, and inventory management in the company’s workshop. This role includes supervising a team of technicians, ensuring that all equipment is properly serviced and available for use, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Shop Manager will ensure the smooth operation of the shop, contribute to operational efficiency, and maintain a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead, train, and supervise a team of technicians, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting, and safety protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical flushing equipment and tools, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory of equipment, tools, and parts, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and equipment is readily available for field operations.
- Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule the maintenance, repairs, and servicing of equipment to minimize downtime and ensure availability for scheduled jobs.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of equipment and repairs to ensure that all work meets company standards and is compliant with safety regulations.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the workshop adheres to all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for the team.
- Budget & Cost Management: Monitor shop expenses, including parts and labor, and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess shop processes and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and streamline workflows.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with the operations team, field technicians, and management to ensure that equipment needs and timelines are met.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, inventory levels, and shop performance to management.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Ability to travel on site to Martinsburg, WV.
- Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical or industrial services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical flushing equipment, tools, and maintenance procedures.
- Experience in managing a team and overseeing day-to-day operations in a workshop environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management and scheduling software.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance in industrial settings.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in mechanical flushing or industrial cleaning services.
- Knowledge of fluid systems, pumps, and hydraulic equipment.
- Experience with maintenance management software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Certification in safety management or OSHA compliance.
