Salary: Based on Teacher Salary Scale, with additional stipends for CTE supervisor duties

Reports To: Superintendent/Building Principal  Position Overview:
Buena Vista City Public Schools (BVCPS) seeks a highly organized, innovative, and qualified Technology Education supervisor and teacher to lead and manage our Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs. This is a hybrid teaching and CTE Supervisor role that includes instruction in several high-demand technical disciplines and responsibility for leading the division’s CTE program. Supervisor of Career & Technical Education  Responsibilities:
This role includes leadership of CTE operations and compliance reporting at the division level, including:

State & Federal Compliance:

• Author and submit all required reports and plans:
  • Annual Perkins V Local Plan
  • Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) (biannual)
  • SEDF, SSCCRR, CTECC, CTEFR  and other reports
  • Work with the data manager to ensure accurate data reporting and updating of Powerschool

Budget & Financial Oversight:

• Allocate and manage:
• Local CTE funds
• Federal Perkins funds
• State categorical funds
• File all reimbursement claims and maintain purchasing records
• Submit POs and reconcile orders with the bookkeeper

Certification & Testing Coordination:

• Lead all aspects of the CTE industrial credential testing

Administrative & Leadership:

• Assist in building the master schedule and student course selection
• Supervise CTE instructional staff and the Work-Based Learning (WBL) program
• Lead 2–5 Advisory Committee meetings annually
• Support dual-enrollment efforts with MGCC and coordinate DE transportation
• Ensure compliance with licensing and evolving state/federal CTE policies
• Lead initiatives to improve 3E metrics (Enrollment, Enlistment, Employment)
• Collaborate with administrators to meet school accountability requirements
• Attend regional meeting and other trainings to stay up to date on State regulations 

Community & Workforce Engagement:

• Meet with local business leaders to identify workforce needs
• Plan and attend:
  • CTE-related field trips
  • Division job fairs
  • Mock interviews and employer panels

  Instructional Responsibilities:

You will deliver instruction in the following subject areas may include, but are not limited to:

• Communication Technologies
• Graphic Communications
• Robotics
• Technical Drawing and Design
• Architectural Drawing and Design
• Instruction should emphasize hands-on learning, project-based outcomes, and alignment with Virginia CTE competencies and workplace readiness standards.

  Qualifications:

Required:

• Valid Virginia teaching license with endorsement in Technology Education (Grades 6–12)
• Understanding of Perkins funding, Virginia CTE policy, and industry certification processes
• Demonstrated ability to manage reports, budgets, and testing protocols
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SSWS, Testing Platforms,  PowerSchool, and related systems

Preferred:

• Prior experience teaching in a CTE setting
• Experience with Work-Based Learning (WBL) supervision
• Experience submitting reports through Omega and other state systems
• Experience/degree in school administration
