Brookings Health System is seeking reliable, hard working Health Unit Coordinator to join our team to deliver the best possible care!

Compensation range for this position is $16.06 to $23.78, based on experience.

This position acts primarily as a clerical position that requires an individual who is attentive to details, has knowledge of medical terminology, demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills, and assists staff with patient care to promote optimal care of the patient. Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks at hand. Functions are carried out under direct and indirect supervision of RN staff. Assists staff in maintaining a smooth flow of unit activities as related to patient care, physician orders, and functions of ancillary departments as appropriate for care of medical/surgical patients. Performs a variety of clerical related duties to include answering phones, coordinating workflow, and completing computer work. Answers phones, transfers calls, works with the public, performs computer input, maintains inventory of medical and paper supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent customer service, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in various situations are essential

• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medications required.

JOB TYPE:

• Part time

• Benefit Eligible

• 24 hours per week

• Monday, Wednesday and Fridays

• Day Shift, 7:30 am to 4 pm

• Every third weekend if needed
