JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.  This involves the responsibility of directing and administering purchasing, production control, inventory control, and shipping and receiving departments

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
  • Establish procedures and supervise the annual physical inventory. 
  • Oversee and ensure proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and to balance the level of manpower and machine requirements.  Ensure deviations to the production schedule are investigated and properly followed up.
  • Oversee the purchasing and/or contracting for materials, supplies, equipment and services, in addition to all inventory items. 
  • Investigate and solve problems resulting from material shortages.
  • Establish and maintain purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair and ethical relationships with vendors.  Keep informed on legal matters that effect purchasing policies.
  • Investigate and research new materials, suppliers and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity and delivery.
  • Keep abreast of materials and material pricing trends that effect company products.
  • Manage the shipping and receiving functions of the company, and oversee the storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Develop, establish and provide for the maintenance of reporting systems that relate to the materials function.
  • Ensure that standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a warehouse / materials environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must be able to work in multiple environments – shop, outside in all types of weather conditions as well as in an office.
  • Must pass a physical, drug test, and criminal background check prior to employment.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Regular Full-Time

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $58,440.00 - $84,745.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
