Amherst Systems Operating Unit (OU) is an organization focused on the development and production of state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions.
What You'll Get to Do:
Process Development:
- Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes with a focus on production capabilities, quality, and schedules.
- Monitor process yields and cost.
- Develop and optimize automated equipment process parameters.
- Create and manage project plans (tasks, resources, and schedules).
- Develop and revise process documentation and work instructions.
Production Support:
- Solve manufacturing problems related to materials, designs, equipment, tooling, training, and instructions.
- Disposition non-conforming materials and specify rework and repair processes.
- Create and document designs for custom tooling and fixtures.
Equipment Support:
- Specify, justify, and procure new manufacturing equipment.
- Equipment startup and production readiness.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance, service schedules, and spare parts.
Design and Engineering Support:
- Participate in design manufacturability reviews for new products.
The ideal candidate must be able to communicate written, verbally, and have knowledge of using Microsoft Office Suite. The position may be filled as an Engineer Manufacturing or Principal Engineer Manufacturing.
Basic Qualifications for the Engineer Manufacturing:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM related discipline with 2 years related experience; OR Master's Degree in Engineering or STEM related discipline with 0 years of experience.
- Experience with mechanical and/or electronic manufacturing/production processes.
- Experience with interpreting 2D drawings and 3D models.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Basic Qualifications for the Principal Engineer Manufacturing:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM related discipline with 5 years related experience; OR Master's Degree in Engineering or STEM related discipline with 3 years of experience
- Experience with mechanical and/or electronic manufacturing/production processes.
- Experience with interpreting 2D drawings and 3D models.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronics manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Experience programming automated microelectronics and circuit card manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with equipment, materials, and processes for manufacturing precision wound coils and their encapsulation.
- Experience with a variety of industry standards (including but not limited to IPC-610, J-STD, 7711/7721, MIL and ANSI).
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Experience with analyzing data and figures.
- Experience with Solidworks, NX and Autocad.
- Experience working with SAP and Teamcenter in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Active Secret Clearance.
