About us
Our Partner, Emma Gilbert, is an experienced Bristol graduate and leads a supportive team of 2 other vets, 4 nurses, and 3 CCAs and our practice administrator. We work hard but know how to have a good laugh along the way, we look after our colleagues and genuinely care for one another. We’re always looking for novel ways to support our staff wellbeing and create a relaxed atmosphere, so new ideas are always welcomed! We’re close to the A38 with good transport links to Nottingham, Burton and the Peak District.
Our modern surgery has been designed to industry leading standards, with state-of-the-art equipment including a dental x-ray, ultrasound, class 4 laser and an in-house lab. We are a silver standard ICC Cat Friendly Clinic but also dog and rabbit friendly!
About you and the role
You’ll help with the daily running of the practice to ensure a high standard of care for Patients and Clients. Nurses are the heart of our practice and perform an integral clinical role in caring for our patients. You’ll have great communication and organisation skills and take pride in working to a high standard. You will have an interest in, and want to learn about, the practice as a business, as well as how to motivate a team to achieve their personal and practice goals. They key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the Veterinary Nurse role, delivering excellent patient and client care.
For this role you’ll need to be confident in all aspects of Veterinary Nursing, from surgical and medical procedures to inpatient care and consultations. Being a clinical coach or interested in becoming on would also be an advantage. Our nurses are allowed and expected to use their skills and really be a nurse, we’ll support you every step of the way! We have a mixture of theatre, medical and consult work, including laser therapy clinics. If you are interested in schedule 3 or there is a certain area of nursing you have a particular passion for, we are more than happy to see how we can support you with this too!
This role is working full time between 37 - 40 hours a week with a mix of early and late finishes and weekends on a rota basis depending on the number of colleagues in. We understand the importance of a healthy work/life balance and so we can be flexible with how your hours are worked.
