The Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. This strategic role will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls, and strategic financial guidance to support our rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly reports for senior management and manage the annual audit process, including preparation of the Financial Statements in accordance with UK GAAP
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger operations
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Monitor cash flow and working capital management
Support the annual budgeting and reforecast processes
Develop financial models to support business planning and decision-making
Partner with department heads to ensure budgets aligned with strategic objectives
Understand and track key performance indicators specific to the business
Manage all tax compliance and filings, including VAT and Corporation Tax
Ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
Manage tax implications of cross-border services, including transfer pricing
Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures
Manage and optimise financial systems and automation tools
Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Supervise accounting staff and provide mentorship and development opportunities
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, commercial, and marketing teams
About You:
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
At least 3-5 years in a controller or senior financial management role
Experience in digital marketing, advertising or related service industry (preferred)
Experience with UK accounting software (Xero preferred)
Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities
Experience with HMRC online services and Making Tax Digital compliance
Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
Familiarity with marketing technology platforms and their financial implications
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Detail-oriented with strong organisational capabilities
Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment
Leadership experience with team management skills
Strategic thinking with business acumen
Required Qualifications
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or MBA (preferred)
