Accountant who is detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and possess a unique blend of accounting knowledge and foundational IT skills. You will leverage your understanding of financial processes along with technical capabilities in Oracle System Administration and SQL to support and enhance accounting operations. This role requires collaboration across finance, IT, and business teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, system integrity, and process efficiency. As an Accountant in the Finance Operations team, you will play a key role in managing accounting transactions, supporting ERP systems, and contributing to automation and data accuracy initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and review accounting entries.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to maintain and troubleshoot Oracle ERP (R12 or Cloud) accounting modules.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze financial data for reporting and reconciliation.
- Assist in system configuration, user access management, and basic Oracle Sys Admin tasks related to finance modules.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and SOX controls.
- Participate in implementation of new tools and automation initiatives to streamline accounting processes.
- Identify and drive improvements in accounting systems and processes using both financial and technical insights.
- Support cross-functional teams with data analysis and reporting needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (CA, CPA) is a plus.
- 3+ years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in a global environment.
- Working knowledge of Oracle ERP (R12 or Cloud) and basic system administration tasks.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
