Impact

This position commands a mission-critical mandate within banks global payment architecture, orchestrating seamless execution of Specialty operations and managing UAT support for treasury and deposit Operations. The role is instrumental in safeguarding transactional integrity, fortifying compliance and optimizing liquidity flows across domestic and international corridors. By harmonizing operational mastery with strategic foresight this position ensures the banks continued eminence as trusted custodian of high value movements.

Key Deliverables

  • Transaction Operations Oversight- Direct and manage end to end execution of Specialty transactions including Supporting new and existing trust account requests and maintenance with uncompromising accuracy and timeliness.

  • Technology Integration and UAT Governance- Direct User Acceptance Testing for Treasury and Deposit products with uncompromising precision, validating system enhancements, regulatory implementations, and product innovations before deployment at operational scale

  • Regulatory Compliance& Risk Governance- Ensure strict adherence to all applicable regulatory frameworks, AML directives, sanctions screening and internal controls, safeguarding the bank from operational and reputational Risk.

  • Process Excellence & Operational Efficiency- Streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies and introduce best practices to enhance turnaround times and operational cost-effectiveness without compromising service quality.

  • Stakeholder collaboration- Engage with cross functional teams like technology, stakeholders to support seamless payment flows and strategic bank objectives.

  • Talent Development& Performance – Lead, mentor and inspire a high-caliber team instilling a culture of accountability, precision and continuous improvement in all payment functions.

  • Operational Risk Mitigation – Proactively monitor payment operations for payment anomalies, fraud indicators or procedural lapses implementing corrective measures to safeguard the banks financial and reputational integrity.

  • Exception and Dispute Resolution – Drive prompt identification, investigation and resolution of exceptions, disputes and transaction breaks across ACH, wire and forex operations to maintain service excellence and client trust.

Skills and Qualification

Functional Skills:

  • Comprehensive Operations Expertise- Mastery of Transactions banking within Deposit and Trust account Management Operations including Account servicing.

  • Change Management and Process integration- Proven capability to lead operational transitions, system migrations and process integrations with minimal disruption to critical payment flows.

  • Technology & System fluency – Advanced working knowledge of core banking systems, SWIFT platforms, knowledge on ISO 20022, payment gateways and forex dealing systems to ensure flawless transaction processing.

  • Data driven decision making – Ability to interpret operational data, payment volumes and performance metrics to identify trends, optimize processes and support strategic planning.

  • Stakeholder Communication- Applying for conveying complex payment scenarios to stakeholders and regulatory bodies in a concise yet authoritative manner fostering transparency and trust.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Acumen- In-depth knowledge of global and domestic regulatory mandates- including OFAC, AML, sanctions, FED/SHIPS/NACHA and the capability to embed compliance seamlessly into daily operations.

Technical/Business Skills:

  • Payment Innovation Awareness- Strong understanding of next-generation payment technologies, ISO 20022 standards, real-time settlement systems, and evolving cross-border payment innovations. 

  • Treasury & Liquidity Insight- Ability to synchronize payment operations with treasury functions to optimize liquidity, funding, and intraday cash management. 

  • Negotiation & Vendor Management- Proven skill in managing correspondent banking relationships, negotiating SLAs, and optimizing third-party vendor performance. 

  • Crisis & Incident Management- Expertise in steering payment operations through outages, market volatility, or operational disruptions, ensuring swift recovery and minimal business impact. 

  • Regulatory Advocacy & Industry Representation- Experience in engaging with regulators, payment associations, and industry councils to influence policy and represent institutional interests. 

  • KPI & Performance Framework Design- Ability to architect operational scorecards, define KPIs, and implement monitoring frameworks to measure and enhance performance. 

  • Cultural & Cross-Geography Leadership- Adept at leading multicultural and geographically diverse teams while ensuring seamless operational collaboration across time zones. 

  • Shift Flexibility & Resilience- Demonstrated capability to lead operations in extended or night-shift schedules, adapting to cross-border business demands.

  • Degree/master’s degree in Banking and Finance

  • 12-14 years of payment and cash management domain including Deposit and Treasury operations, User Acceptance testing for Treasury products

  • Minimum 6+ years of People management experience
