Job Description:

Epworth Richmond’s Cardiac Diagnostic Services (CDS) is seeking a qualified ASAR-accredited, Grade 3 Cardiac Sonographer to join our dynamic and supportive team. We welcome applications for full-time, part-time, or casual positions. Advanced trainees may also be considered. CDS is a specialised non-invasive cardiac imaging department, staffed by highly skilled sonographers and expert on-site cardiologists. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic services in a collaborative and patient-centred environment. Epworth Richmond is home to a large cardiothoracic surgery department and cutting-edge structural heart program and as such the work is varied.

Our sonographers perform a wide range of procedures including:

  • Outpatient and inpatient transthoracic echocardiography.
  • Stress echocardiography (including pharmacological)
  • Assist with Transoesophageal echocardiography
  • Imaging support for interventional procedures (eg. TAVI, MitraClip and TriClip).

Sonographers are allocated one-hour bookings, with an average of 6–7 patients per day, depending on hospital demand. At CDS you will have access to premium ultrasound systems, ongoing education via in-house sessions and external conferences, annual CPD allowance of $1000 (pro-rata), cumulative over two years.

  • Sound knowledge of cardiac disease, arrhythmias and related pathology

Qualifications:
  • Applied science degree with relevant subjects or equivalent
  • Accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
  • ASAR-accredited Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Sonography

Annual salary range for full time: $118,00 to $134,500 + super + entitlements (e.g. post graduate allowance and on-call allowance if applicable) depending on grade & year level (prorated for part-time).
