Summary:
A Pastor is a religious leader who provides spiritual guidance, conducts religious services, and oversees the overall spiritual well-being of a congregation. They may deliver sermons, provide pastoral counseling, administer sacraments, perform religious rituals, and engage in community outreach and service. Pastors often play a central role in the leadership and administration of a church or religious organization.
Responsibilities:
- You are licensed to minister, preach the gospel, and fulfill the work of serving God's kingdom. Your ministerial license is valid for the duration of your pastoral ministry at Gateway Church.
- You are considered a religious leader and hold spiritual authority within the church.
- You are responsible to lead, manage, and pastor the staff, volunteers, and congregants in which you serve.
- You will serve the congregation by officiating weddings, funerals, baby dedications, communion and other ministry services.
- Serve on rotation to assist with hospital visits, biblical counseling, etc., to all congregants (pastor on call).
- Teach through precept and by life-style example.
- Serve on 26 weekend services each year.
- Provides oversight to employees and volunteers.
- Has budget responsibility for as specific area of ministry.
- Administers programs that meet the needs of the organization's target population and that are in alignment with the organization's stated mission.
- Collecting and analyzing data measuring program or individual employee performance.
- Ensures that all services provided are in compliance with applicable standards and regulations set by the organization.

- Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.

- Typically has some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of experience.
