TIS Security Engineer will support the FAA Telecommunications and Integrated Services (TIS) Group and provide:
- Cybersecurity engineering support for the FAA’s FTI environment, including identification of risks and development of mitigation strategies.
- Ensure security is integrated into the architecture and design of network and NAS systems.
- Review and analyze system configurations, firewall rules, and network paths to ensure compliance with FAA Orders, NIST Guidance (e.g., 800-53) and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Support the implementation of security controls in alignment with NIST RMF, FISMA, and FAA-specific policies.
- Review and provide comments to system characterization documents (SCD), system security plans (SSPs), risk assessments, and security documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and FAA stakeholders to support Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages and continuous monitoring activities.
- Participate in the evaluation and security impact analysis of technology refresh efforts (e.g., replacement of microwave radios).
- Support the coordination, development, and enhancements of cyber security solutions between FAA enterprise infrastructure solution providers (including network, security and cloud service providers) and other FAA cyber security programs/organizations.
- Support FAA efforts with the evaluation, review, definition, and recommendations on defense-in-depth security architectures enabling Zero Trust CONOPS; assessment of the impact of proposed technologies (like Network Functions Virtualization and SD-WANs); analysis of system and network security concepts; and validation of system level solutions and alternatives.
- Review and advise FAA Management on vendor-proposed network and security architecture solutions in accordance with the contract specification, FAA Orders, Federal Guidelines (e.g., NIST) and industry best practices.
- Review/comment on vendors Contract Deliverables (CDRLS); participates in team reviews of comment adjudication.
- Experience supporting federal government programs, ideally within the FAA or transportation sector.
- Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, including IPv4/IPv6, and WAN/LAN environments.
- Strong understanding of NIST SP 800-53 rev5, NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), and FISMA requirements.
- Ability to interpret and apply FAA Orders, cybersecurity policies, and technical standards.
- Familiarity with firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF), IDS/IPS systems, proxies, load balancing, and VPNs.
- FAA experience ensuring proposed National Airspace System (NAS) system changes adhere to existing FAA policies, security standards, and best practices.
- Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture, Software- Defined Networking, Security Orchestration, and policies for their applicability to assist in strengthening the overall security posture of large-scale enterprise with safety-critical operations.
- Excellent relationship building and management skills.
- Strong technical, verbal, and written skills.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency with minimum 3 years residence in the U.S.

Senior Level
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 16+ years of experience in cybersecurity or network security roles
Compensation Ranges: for D.C., NJ, Remote: $124,000 - $193,750
Desired Qualifications:- CISSP, Security+, CCNA or other relevant certification
- Experience with FAA, NAS Systems, or other mission-critical aviation/transportation infrastructure

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
