Senior Frangrance Developer (Vilassar, ES) en CPL Aromas

Reports to:

Marketing & Project Development Manager

Job Purpose

The position is responsible for developing and selecting the most appropriate fragrances for proactive and reactive projects. As well as giving the perfumers the necessary olfactory indications in case perfumer work and analyze benchmark products or market data to translate into development briefings.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Manage projects:

• Manage and coordinate customer/proactive/marketing-initiated projects.
• Interpret client projects and requirements.
• Provide a strategy and timeline for successful project completion.
• Collaborate with other departments (Customer Service, Perfumery, Marketing and Sales) to ensure each project meets established requirements.
• Oversee that each project is delivered on time and within budget.
• Understanding of olfactive strategies of main brands in market/category.
• Analyze client portfolio and perform gap analysis.

Know the market:

• Support assigned markets by looking at trends, gaps and prospects.
• Develop a superior understanding of high-level fragrances and fragrance themes for key markets and categories to support sustainable business growth for the division.
• Be aware of new fragrances, trends and new products in the market.
• Analyze client portfolio and perform gap analysis
• Attending exhibitions as required.

Conduct visit(s):

• Visit customers with Sales Managers when required.
• Periodic visits to stores to learn about our customers' products and sales environments.
• Visit agents and foreign customers if required.

Manage fragrances:

• Select appropriate fragrances in libraries or PV.
• Give olfactory instructions to perfumers to formulate creative proposals that meet key accounts requirements.
• Evaluate selections / modifications and creations with the team.
• Compile fragrance descriptions.

Others:

• Training junior evaluators.
• Building evaluation protocols.

Education:

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Fragrances, or equivalent training.

Professional experience:

• Professional experience in a similar position in the fragrance industry (8-10 years).

Other skills and requirements:

• High level of Spanish (C1-C2).
• High level of English (B2-C1).
• Exceptional olfactory evaluation skills.
• Olfactory ability - determine if a fragrance passes the stability test. 
• Good computer skills - Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel within the province, throughout the country and to travel internationally.
