TITLE: FP&A Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTING TO: SVP, Strategic Planning and Analysis
OFFICE LOCATION: Madrid, Spain
ROLE TYPE: Hybrid
Role Overview:
This role is responsible for efficiently providing detailed analytical support to senior management and external stakeholders (e.g., Board of Directors) to improve business decisions in business transformation.
The person in this position will provide financial and operational analytics, budgeting and forecasting, trend analysis, business insights, qualitative assessment of risks and opportunities, KPI definition and tracking, and recommendations based on advanced financial analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a financial planning and analysis background with a solid understanding of the communications and/or network services industry.
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the business transformation team, finance organization, and other key stakeholders.
- Assist with the creation and enhancement of reports providing updates on transformation program status, including actual financial and operational performance against targets, variance analysis and guidance on future trends.
- Generate insight and drive outcomes by challenging assumptions, scoping and framing problems, and analyzing and delivering solutions.
- Effective communication with others throughout the organization with respect to timely collection of critical information and documentation to ensure deadlines are met.
- Help with the formulation of new business transformation program tracking and reporting focused on KPIs and other measures of success.
- Drive process efficiencies and reduce time spent on low-value activities so more time can be spent creating value for key stakeholders and ultimately shareholders.
- Engage in the ongoing development of financial planning and business intelligence systems across Finance and IPC.
- Perform ad-hoc projects, and analytics that result in recommendations to the business transformation team and CFO.
Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role:
- 2-4 years of relevant Finance experience in a fast-paced and high-growth environment, direct FP&A experience is an advantage.
- BA or BS in Finance or equivalent work experience, accounting qualification is an advantage.
- Industry experience in the SaaS, communications, or network services industries is strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exposure to business intelligence tools (like Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI) and ability to help define and track KPIs, partnering with IT and other stakeholders is an advantage.
- High attention to detail with ability to cross check numbers for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
- Demonstrated success working under pressure and managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English.
