RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Hardware Design Engineer is part of a development team for Head lamps, Rear lamps and control modules and is reporting directly to the Hardware Team Leader and Electronics Manager.
• She/he designs electronic circuits such as LED applications, LED drivers (power supplies) in various topologies and microprocessor-based control units or adapts existing designs to the target application. This role includes responsibly for:
  1. Hardware Requirements capturing
  2. Development of new or adaption of existing hardware concepts during acquisition phases (RFQ)
  3. Creation of the “bill of material (BOM)” for pricing
  4. Detailed circuit designs and authoring of schematics.
  5. Sample and prototype build for internal design verification and presentation at our customers
  6. Validation of the designs by simulations and measurements
  7.  Detailed design analysis, documentation, and proof of reliability by a „worst case analysis (WCCA) “
  8. Support of development and enhancement of our standard circuit library
  9. Support of test teams and production
• During the product development all internal process requirements and activities like design reviews and releases need to be followed and supported.
• It may be requested to present the design internally and to our customer.
• Performance of product benchmarks.
• Support of pre-development activities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT(S):

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification in a similar field with good knowledge in hardware development.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):

• 2+ years’ experience.

• Ideally you bring some knowledge of electronics engineering in the automotive environment and have experience with the following software tools.

• Altium Designer
• Spice simulation (PSPICE, OrCAD, LTspice, …`
• IBM Rational Team Concert
• Labview
• Vector CANalyzer/CANoe
• Microsoft Office package and Windows
