Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has opportunities for Preschool Assistant, Long-term Substitute at Essex Elementary School, beginning September 3, 2025 through October 1, 2025. The Preschool Assistant supports the teacher in ensuring a safe and enriching environment for young children. They assist with student behavior, record-keeping, instructional support, and communication with stakeholders. Additionally, they help with classroom setup, and safety measures, and contribute to policy implementation. They also play a role in assessing student progress, developing individualized programs, and providing overall support to students and staff.

  

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

  • Associate's degree in early childhood education preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with, and love for, working with preschool aged children
  • Relevant experience in a school setting is desirable
  • Knowledge of children with disabilities of special education students, and special education teaching methods preferred
  • Holds or is able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, training provided
  • Able to effectively work without specific direction, and with minimal supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

This positions is pays a daily rate of $150/full day or $75/half day.
