Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta, GA is seeking to hire a Seasonal Head Swim Coach to provide swimming lessons to Cherokee's youth and adults this summer. Do you have a passion for swimming? Our seasonal Swim Instructors earns a competitive wage of $45.00 - $50.00 per hour based on experience. JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the operation, spirit, and coaching of the entire Cherokee Swim Team.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAD SWIM COACH
As a seasonal Swim Instructor, you eagerly arrive at the pool with an upbeat attitude ready to engage with your students. You teach basic, intermediate, and advanced swim skills to students ranging in age from infants to adults. Working with swimmers in private, semi-private, and group settings, you make sure that every swimmer is able to develop skills and learn proper swimming techniques. Your ability to motivate your students to achieve individual goals is essential to your success. Each day, each lesson, and each student is an amazing opportunity to share your love for swimming. Plus, you enjoy spending your summer outside in the pool.
Duties:
- Schedules and attends practice sessions.
- Attends all team social events, board meetings, and swim meets for the swim team.
- Organizes all aspects of swim meets. Including, but not limited to, individual race participants, pre/post computer work, new records for times recorded and posted.
- Responsible for recruitment, orientation, and training of assistant coaches through the Family, Swim, and Fitness Assistant Director.
- Responsible for hands-on swimming skill development of all swim team participants.
- The Head Swim Coach may give private lessons and teach swim clinics.
- The Head Swim Coach will be responsible the development of all daily swim practice drills and plans.
- Responsible for communicating expectations for parents and kids and continues to communicate with parents on topics of relevance in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for generating a team that has spirit, through encouragement and use of other motivational tools.
- Responsible for updating and program swim team and FSF department web site/pages.
- Collaborate with the Cherokee Swim Team Association.
- Performs other duties as required by the Family, Swim, and Fitness Assistant Director.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of swim coaching experience with various ages.
- Great knowledge of the sport of swimming.
- Ability to establish, collaborate and maintain relationships with members and staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HY-Tech software including placement strategy of swimmers.
- Experience in successfully making a heat sheet.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification & CPO Certification
WORK SCHEDULE:
Our pool is open 7 days a week, and the season runs from March through September.
