The Opportunity:

The Marketing Specialist will assist with the implementation and day-to-day execution of eCornell’s email communications and marketing automation programs. This role plays a critical part in driving engagement, nurturing leads, and supporting enrollment goals through strategic and data-driven email marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in sales and marketing software including Pardot and Salesforce, with hands-on experience building and launching email campaigns, configuring audience segmentation, and optimizing automation workflows.

In addition to technical proficiency, the Marketing Specialist should possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of email marketing best practices, and the ability to analyze campaign performance to inform future strategies. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, enrollment, and product to ensure messaging consistency and alignment with broader organizational goals. A proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement are essential for success in this position.

What You Will Do:

  • Support our communications and email automation teams.

  • Build outbound mass email communications through marketing automation software, including implementing appropriate lists and suppressions.

  • Execute automation workflows and email campaigns set up in Pardot and Salesforce.

  • Write and interpret complex email automation and segmentation rules, dynamic lists, email drafts/templates, and forms/form handlers.

  • Design premium email communications for a prestigious brand; write compelling copy for email marketing.

  • Maintain email best practices and test/QA all communications.

  • Work collaboratively with departments across the organization to accomplish objectives and maximize impact of strategic initiatives.

  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.

  • Professional experience using sales and marketing automation software

  • Hands-on experience using Pardot and Salesforce or similar marketing automation tools.

  • Sound understanding of email marketing strategy and digital marketing operations.

  • Exceptional marketing copywriting skills and editing ability.

  • Working knowledge of email design and automation best practices.

  • A strong grasp of the intricacies of marketing automation logic, rules, actions, and suppression lists.

  • Ability to understand systems integrations between marketing automation (Pardot), CRM (Salesforce), web forms, and other systems.

  • Agility and excellent time management skills to plan, coordinate, prioritize multiple initiatives amidst changing priorities.

  • Ability to execute on a high volume of communications deliverables with an exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Positive and responsive approach; ability to collaborate and work effectively with designers and developers, to maximize deliverables.

  • Tech savvy and a drive to learn and master new technologies and tools.

  • Basic familiarity with HTML and CSS coding for email a plus

  • Graphic design and animation skills/experience a plus

The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholdings for this position.
