We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing programs and services that support first-year students' transition to college, including outreach, event coordination, intervention programs, data management, and collaboration with campus departments to enhance student engagement and success.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with first-time-in-college (FTIC) student block scheduling and manage early alert interventions through various communication methods.
  • Support the development, implementation, and assessment of intervention programs for first-year students.
  • Assist in organizing and executing first-year experience (FYE) events, including orientation and transition programs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student leaders and peer mentors to support FYE programs.
  • Help maintain and update virtual and in-person orientation content to align with best practices.
  • Maintain accurate student records, analyze participation and outcomes, and generate reports to inform program improvements.
  • Conduct outreach campaigns, manage FYE email communication, and develop marketing materials to promote programs and events.
  • Partner with departments across the district to support first-year students and represent FYE at campus events.
  • Attend training, conferences, and serve on committees related to student success and retention.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Program and Event Management
  • Knowledge of Caseload and Data Management
  • Knowledge of Student Engagement, Support, and Belonging
  • Knowledge of Technology Tools. (Office 365, Workday, and Canvas preferred)
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including crafting emails, reports, marketing materials, and delivering presentations
  • Skill in analyzing data, maintaining accurate records, and generating reports
  • Competence in using software platforms and tools such as Microsoft Office, student management systems, communication tools, and Learning Management Systems
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and manage program logistics effectively
  • Ability to lead, collaborate with teams, supervise staff, and mentor student leaders or peer mentors
  • Ability to assess situations and develop effective solutions
  • Ability to foster a sense of belonging and build meaningful connections with students

 
Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required and at least one year of related experience in higher education or student affairs required.

This position requires the ability to travel to campus events across the district.
