The University of Pittsburgh Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a clinical research coordinator for the Effects of Operational Naps on Blood Pressure and Performance Among Night Shift Workers (The EONN Research Study).

-Lead staff and student researchers.

-Coordinate recruitment, participant communication, and tracking of participants.

-Coordinate study team meetings, data safety monitoring board meetings and documentation, IRB documentation where needed.

-Coordinate protocol manuals and documentation and staff training on the study protocol.

-Assist investigators and staff with participant tracking, enrollment goal milestones, and reporting to funding agency.

-When needed, help staff the lab during overnight protocols if needed due to staff scheduling conflicts or challenges.

-Be flexible with on-site work schedule to include possible nighttime and/or weekend hours – when needed.


Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection.

Essential functions:

Strong leader.

Actively works or is familiar with public safety and/or healthcare settings like emergency departments or medical units.

Comfortable encouraging staff, leading teams, creating and implementing protocols for human, lab-based studies.

Coordinating schedules, investigator meetings, documentation, supplies, and staff for staffing protocols.

Comfortable assisting with participant recruitment, scheduling participants, and participant communication.

Flexible schedule to ensure nighttime coverage if needed.
