Position Summary

Prepare parts for painting, and inspect parts after painting to ensure quality. 

 

BENEFITS:
Shift: 4:30pm-2:00am Monday - Thursday and 11:00am-3:00pm Friday

Duties

1.    Preparing parts for painting, including performing the following tasks:  sanding, washing, masking, hanging, tacking parts and unhanging parts.
2.    Unmasking, cleaning, and re-taping as necessary, after parts are painted.
3.    Reading blueprints to identify parts, and the tasks to be performed on parts.
4.    Using Shop Floor Control to determine job assignment, and job specifications.
5.    Using AS400 to determine availability and location of parts.
6.    Visually inspecting parts for quality.
7.    Remaining safety conscious always and properly wearing all prescribed safety equipment, including dust mask while performing job.
8.    Meeting pulmonary standards; including successful completion of annual testing requirements.
9.    Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Employee handbook, Bulletin Boards, Newsletters, and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS Management. 

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience


1)    High school graduate or GED required.
2)    Two years prior material prep experience preferred.
3)    Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused.
4)    Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the leadership team.
5)    Assist with training other operators.
6)    Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused.
7)    Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both written and oral.
8)    Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements.
9)    Ability to work with others.
10)    Willingness to work overtime, if required.
11)    Knowledge, understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Kanban Inventory, Visual Management, Waste elimination, and Root Cause Problem Solving are preferred.

Pay range for this opportunity is $17.47 - $22.61. This position is eligible for bonus participation. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
