Job Description
The CAD Supervisor manages a team of CAD engineers who develop various designs using software programs; the supervisor will be in charge of ensuring that deadlines and budget matters are fully-met and satisfied, and the work is satisfactory and meets all quality standards. He/she may also be asked to train and hire new employees as necessary. This is, of course, a supervisory position, so applicants should expect to manage a small group of employees, assign them tasks, and set deadlines for projects.
• Supervise CAD Designers, creating schedules, assigning tasks and resources, and ensuring team members receive training.
• Identify issues and recommend solutions and improvements for CAD procedures.
• Assist CAD management with customer and/or vendor design reviews, meetings, and/or consultations.
• Provide technical support to CAD Designers and Engineers, Sales teams, and Production teams.
• Perform duties as a CAD Designer, translating specifications into designs, models, and products.
• 2 year technical degree or certificate of completion in CAD design
• 5-7 years or more of related experience (including supervisory experience).
• Significant experience and expertise with Autocad software programs
• Strong PC and CAD skills, as well as knowledge of the capabilities and efficiencies of utilizing specific computer software to complete design assignments.
