SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Shipping Specialist will prepare parcels for shipping. Orders and assembles supplies, tools, and other merchandise according to orders received. Determines appropriate method of packaging and shipment. Maintains a history of shipments.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assist clients with questions and receive customer supply orders via Account Managers / Client Services / Field Reps, and Customer emails, phone calls and in-person.
- Prepares parcels for pick-up by client or delivery by couriers (UPS, FedEx, and Speedee).
- Prepares daily manifests for couriers (UPS, FedEx, and Speedee).
- Bundles and/or barcodes plant, soil, and pet food/whirlpak bags as needed.
- Understand and provide instruction sheets relevant to specific order.
- Assemble specialized packaging/kits including HAZMAT, HACCP, micro plates and supplies, and coolers as needed.
- Create containers with acid/chemical requirements for applicable orders.
- Performs or schedules routine cleaning, maintenance, and repair of all equipment used for shipping.
- Reports client feedback to the Client Services Director as applicable.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Client Services Director.

Experience:
- 1 year in a customer service or logistics role
Physical Requirements:
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment
- Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the phone and in group setting
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6 or more hours)
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Sufficient physical dexterity to walk, bend, stoop or squat
